The Democratic Club will host Chris Duncan, candidate for California’s 36th State Senate District, on Wednesday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. As the former mayor of San Clemente and a retired federal prosecutor, Duncan spent his career prosecuting traffickers and drug smugglers, fueling a campaign built on public safety and government accountability. Fresh off earning a massive 98% support at the California Democratic Party’s pre-endorsing conference, Duncan is ready to bring his proven record to Sacramento. People are welcome to arrive early, bring a lunch and visit with like-minded Democrats. Light snacks will be available.
On March 28, from 2-4 p.m., the LW Democratic Club will join thousands of Americans in Indivisible’s “No Thrones, No Crowns, No Kings” peaceful protest. The club is working closely with the Seniors For Peace Club for a major demonstration under the LW globe. The clubs will host a sign-making event on Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m., in Clubhouse 3, Room 1 or 2. The club will provide the basics, but encourages everyone to bring materials to share. People are encouraged to keep things sustainable by bringing large, flattened cardboard boxes to use for signs. People are also welcome to join the demonstration under the globe every Saturday from 2-3 p.m.
The Democratic Hospitality Booth is open the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., weather permitting.
