Leisure World Korean Community Church’s (LWKCC) Senior Pastor Yong Jang-Young preached from Genesis 3:15, on Dec. 7, with a message titled “God’s Promise and Fulfillment.” The church also observed the first week of Advent at the service.
To commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the congregation read Genesis 1 and John 1 together, proclaiming Jesus’ birth and delivering a sermon on the fulfillment of God’s promise.
Pastor Yong emphasized God’s promises and mercy by quoting scripture, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and the word was with God in the beginning.
“God is good, and his love endures forever.”
He also reflected on the grace that has protected and blessed believers throughout the years, “Let us give thanks for God’s blessings upon our congregation, for our physical health, for our inner peace, and for our holy and good lives,” he said. “Let us be thankful that in our later years, we will live lives of faith filled with the assurance of salvation and the fullness of the Holy Spirit.”
After the service, the winning teams from last week’s Thanksgiving service were introduced. All 14 performing teams displayed outstanding talent, and four of them won.
LWKCC holds a worship at the sanctuary every Sunday at 11:50 a.m. and an early morning prayer service at 14000 Church Place at 6 a.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays.
