Where We Live Club

The Where We Live Club held its newly formatted meeting with officer elections. Results for the elections are posted on the club’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/lwsb. wwlc.

Building on that momentum, the Where We Live Club introduced Advisory Circles (think tanks) as a new way for residents to share their ideas and experiences in a simple, stress-free setting. The program comes at a time when the new GRF Board is asking for greater resident input, making now an ideal moment for community members to get involved.

Advisory Circles are designed to be low-pressure, timelimited, and entirely voluntary. Rather than lengthy meetings or administrative responsibilities, they provide a relaxed space for neighbors to discuss community issues and explore solutions together.

At the Sept. 8 meeting, members received handouts outlining GRF committees and the topics they oversee. This helps residents identify areas of personal interest. For those who have ever thought, “This could be better,” or “Why didn’t they ask someone with experience?”, Advisory Circles provide a constructive way to be part of the conversation.

Each circle will focus on a specific area of community life from amenities and finance to sustainability and social connections. Residents may participate in a limited number of sessions and step away once the group’s recommendations are complete. No prior committee or board experience is required. The Where We Live Club hopes these circles will expand opportunities for resident involvement while keeping the process easy and welcoming. By encouraging small-group discussions on practical topics, the club aims to ensure more voices are heard in shaping Leisure World’s future.

Residents interested in learning more or participating can email whereweliveclub@gmail. com or connect on Facebook.

The Where We Live Club will hold its next meeting on Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
