Meet with vendors who specialize in organization, decluttering and clear-outs

Residents are invited to attend “My Clean Home,” a free clutter education and resource event, today, April 30, from 2-3:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 4, organized by GRF Member Resources. The event will also be livestreamed. Snacks will be provided.

The event will feature a range of vendors specializing in decluttering, hoarding and home organization. Guest speaker Kimberly Adams, a member of the OC Task Force on Hoarding and founder of the support group Beyond Our Belongings, will present on clutter and its underlying causes. The session will conclude with a question-and-answer period.

On-site resource vendors will include:

• Beyond Our Belongings Support Group: A group that helps people learn decluttering skills and gain emotional support.

• Caring Transitions—Declutter & Organize: This business simplifies lives for seniors aging in place by decluttering their space, while acknowledging the sentimental attachment to their belongings.

• Busy B Organizing: This business offers professional home organizing, decluttering and space transformation services. Led by Beth Bjorklund, it specializes in creating functional, customized storage solutions, including pantry, garage and closet organization.

• Moves for Seniors: This business offers decluttering and downsizing, helping to identify items to keep, organize or pack and efficiently arrange belongings to optimize space and functionality. It also offers responsible disposal for items their clients wish to discard or donate.

• SoCal Clear Outs: This business offers professional property clean-out services with a straightforward path to empty property.

• Orange County Fire Authority: This public safety agency will answer questions about home fire safety.

• Orange County Council on Aging: This nonprofit organization offers social services assistance to connect seniors with resources and help them through the process of putting resources to work.

• Adult Protective Services: This public service agency is directed at preventing or remedying neglect, abuse or exploitation of adults who are unable to protect their own interests due to age or disability. Anyone who suspects or knows an elder adult struggling with daily activities, or suspects someone is being abused can make an anonymous report.

• Golden Age Foundation: This Leisure World-based nonprofit is a founding member of the Collaboration Team with GRF Member Resources and offers an array of programs and assistance exclusively for LW shareholders.

• Safety Expert: GRF Safety Manager Eloy Gomez will be on site to answer a variety of questions.
