‘Dump Day’ is May 2 at nearby city yard
CITY OF SEAL BEACH
The City of Seal Beach will host a Dump Day on Saturday, May 2, from 9-11 a.m. at the Public Works Yard, 1776 Adolfo Lopez Drive, Seal Beach, which is a 4-minute drive from St. Andrews Gate.
People can drop off:
• Bulky hazardous waste at no cost: Staff will be onsite to collect household items that are too bulky for residential garbage bins such as mattresses, furniture and toys.
• Used household items and clothing: Salvageable will be kept out of the landfill and donated to Goodwill. Donations of new and gently used clothing, household items, and other saleable items can also be given directly to Goodwill at the event.
• E-waste and tires: The Orange County Conservation Corps will collect e-waste like computer monitors, televisions, cords, small appliances and electronics, as well as tires.
The city will not collect hazardous materials, such as batteries, paints, oils, chemicals, pesticides, smoke detectors or florescent lights; materials like concrete, dirt, rocks, brick, asphalt or sand; or treated wood. Only personal vehicles can be used to drop off items. Moving trucks, delivery trucks and commercial vehicles will be turned away.
