The Democratic Club’s value statement is repeated before every membership meeting. It says, “the Democratic Club believes that healthcare is a right, diversity is a strength, the economy should work for everyone, and that facts and truth matter.”
After the clubs excitement for the Nov. 4 special election victories, there are nowpressing issues to discuss. For example, the government shutdown appears to be over and as a result, Adelita Grij alva, a newly elected Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, was finally sworn in by House Speaker Mike Johnson. The congresswoman became the 218th and final signature on the discharge position for the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
The Democratic Party of Orange County has a series of monthly training to help “equip, engage and motivate leaders, partners and activist to win in 2026.” These trainings are online, free and open to anyone who shares the mission. For more information, download the free app on the Apple or Google Play store.
The Democratic Club membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. People are welcome to early and bring a lunch. Light snacks will be served. NickMassetti will be the guest speaker for the Dec. 3 meeting.
In January, Massetti was appointed to the Seal Beach City Planning Commission as a representative of District 2 and currently resides in Mutual 17. Massetti created the LW Cares Fund, a program for lowincome LW residents to help with their monthly assessment.
There will be some changes to the club’s regular meeting schedule due to the holidays. What would have been a regular meeting date on Nov. 26 has been moved to the following Wednesday, Dec. 3. The normally scheduled December membership meeting is cancelled.
The Hospitality Booth returns to its normal schedule of the first Tuesday and third Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m in front of Clubhouse 6. People are welcome to stop by and visit with like-minded individuals, register to vote, change address, join the club, or change party affiliation. Volunteers are available to assist and answer questions. For more information about the booth, email Rachael Lehmberg at rlehmberg815@gmail.com.
The Voter Education session for this month is cancelled. For more information, email beverleybender@ gmail.com.
