LW Friends of the Library
The LW Friends of the Library thanks all donors and shoppers for their generous holiday donations and purchases. One shopper took advantage of the bargains and bought $7.50 worth of cards at 10 cents each, seemingly a lot of money, but a pittance compared to 75 cards at retail. The Boutique Committee used its skills to present donated items attractively. Helpful bookstore volunteers were on hand to help package patrons’ finds.
The Friends of the Library appreciates all who contribute to this circle of giving, a true embodiment of the spirit of the holidays. Those who may enjoy the surprise of opening containers of donated items or helping to price and present miscellaneous treasures are invited to consider volunteering for the boutique committee. The committee works when the store is closed, Tuesdays, or Saturday afternoons, or a few hours on Sunday.
This a a great group to work with and a good way to meet new friends. Those interested can drop by the bookstore and fill out a volunteer form. Shifts are short, typically three to four hours . The volunteer coordinator will work to accommodate the number of days per month that suits each individual’s schedule.
