LW Women’s Golf Club
New Year’s Eve brought 33 women to the Leisure World golf course for the final tournament of 2024. Play for the day was low gross and low net.
A flight winners: Sophia Kim, 28, low gross; Sandy Kim and Mary Ann Moore, 25, low net.
B flight winners: Susie Kim, 29, low gross; Jane Song, 24, low net.
C flight winners: Sue Sloan, 34, low gross; Liz Meripol, 24, low net.
D flight winners: Connie Kang, 33, low gross; Emilio Uchiyama, 25, low net.
The end of the year capped a successful 2024 with many women participating in tournaments, meetings and luncheons throughout the year. Any woman may join the club. Dues are $30 a year and are due now.
The new year brings some new faces as officers for 2025: Judi Ornoff, president; Liz Meripol, vice president; Elizabeth Butterfield, secretary; Vivian Cebellos, treasurer; Nina DeRosa and Nancy Tye, membership; Keiko Sekino, handicaps; Eulia Kim, Soo Choi, Sally Park and Judy Kim, weekly tournaments; Pam Krug, major and fifth week tournaments; Linda Herman, publicity; Sue Yokomi, flyers; Sue Sloan and Neva Senske, sunshine; Hae Lee, Sandy Kim and Veronica Chang, social.
