LW Baptist Church meets for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, the congregation will learn about when Moses told the people of Israel that the Lord must give them new hearts. The Catholic writer and philosopher Blaise Pascal said that the creator is not “simply the author of mathematical truths or of the order of the elements...[He is] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of Christians...a God of love and of comfort, a God who fills the soul and heart of those whom he possesses.”

Jesus calls this the new birth. Peter, telling the Jerusalem Council about the Gentiles’ salvation, said that God “made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.” John spoke of believers in Christ as children of God, being “born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
