Once again, I feel it necessary to remind bicycle riders that they have to obey the same DMV laws as do vehicles. Most of them mindlessly ignore stop signs, ride their bikes across pedestrian crosswalks instead of dismounting and believe that sidewalks are their domain. Recently a cyclist was pedaling as fast as possible in the middle lane on St. Andrews. At the intersection of Golden Rain and St. Andrews, the rider cut off a bus driver and then disregarded the four-way red light and pedaled furiously to make a right turn. The laws that govern bicyclists here in Leisure World mandate that cyclists must follow the same rules of the road as vehicles and also they need to courteously yield to pedestrians on sidewalks.
