Harvest Festival will feature raffles, games and live bluegrass music

GRF SPECIAL EVENTS

The GRF Harvest Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Community Gardens, 13101 Nassau Drive, featuring live bluegrass music, hands-on gardening workshops, decorated gardens and raffle prizes.

Admission is free, and a full day of activities awaits visitors of all ages.

The Wimberley Bluegrass Band will provide the soundtrack for the festivities, performing three sets at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Residents can also get their hands dirty during hands-on gardening workshops hosted by the Leisure World Garden Club. Participants will have an opportunity to plant seeds and take home their creations, along with helpful gardening knowledge.

Adding a little Halloween spirit to this year’s festival, residents can vote for their favorite “spooktacular” garden. Community gardeners will show off their creativity with festive garden displays, and visitors can help select the winners. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place.

Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the festival, including a 75-inch Samsung television, a $100 Home Depot gift card and a free garden plot for one year. Drawings will take place following each performance by the Wimberley Bluegrass Band, with the grand prize drawing at the conclusion of the festival.

To receive a raffle ticket, residents are asked to bring a donation of non- HARVEST
