Assembly of God
Leisure World Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby.
On Sunday, Oct. 18, Pastor Chuck Franco will share a sermon titled “The Evil Farmers” from Matthew 21:33-41. Jesus relates the story of a landowner who planted a vineyard, put in the things necessary to protect it and process the grapes, and then leased the land to farmers before he moved to another country.
When it was time for the harvest, he attempted to recover his share of the profits from the farmers who worked the vineyard, to disastrous and personally painful consequences. When Jesus asked the religious leaders what the landowner should do to the farmers, they answered what their understanding of what the law would require. But Jesus’s message was above the limits of the law. He came to fulfill God’s promise.
The Bible study meets on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. On Oct. 21, the group will look at the book of Leviticus and the sacrificial system. Reading Leviticus, with its detailed instructions, requirements and descriptions, can be tedious. Pastor Praveen Darole brings Leviticus to life and reveals how Jesus is woven through the book, this week illuminating him as the perfect and ultimate sacrifice.
