American Legion Auxiliary Fundraiser
Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #327 will be stationed at the Amphitheater today, Sept. 3, to hand out handmade red poppies during the Beatles tribute concert. All donations collected during this volunteer-led initiative will assist veterans, active-duty military members, and their families with critical healthcare, financial aid and community housing needs.
The red poppy has served as an international symbol of military remembrance since World War I. Inspired by the famous wartime poem “In Flanders Fields,” these handmade flowers symbolize the blood shed by service members protecting national freedoms.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the American Legion should call 562-889-4932.
