In Library Leads, library staff highlight exciting new additions to the library collection.

“The Book Witch,” by Meg Shaffer

Genre: Fantasy Fiction

The protagonist can hop into any novel, she just can’t stay there. She goes on a quest to find her grandfather and recover a stolen book. It takes her though the world of classic books like “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Great Gatsby” that will reveal hidden enemies and long-buried family secrets.

“How to Be Okay When Nothing is Okay: Tips and Tricks That Kept Me Alive, Happy, and Creative in Spite of Myself,” by Jenny Lawson Genre: Nonfiction, Humorous Self-Help

This book introduces humorous, heartfelt and genuine tools and tricks that the author relies on to keep her going even when her brain isn’t working properly due to depression, anxiety and ADHD. She also offers tips to stay passionate and focused on creative endeavors, especially when everything seems to be saying “give up.”

Stop by the library from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 3:30 on Saturday to borrow these items and more or call ahead at 562-598-2431 to place an item on hold.
