Mother’s Day Brunch Tickets


The GRF Recreation Department will hold a special brunch to honor Leisure World mothers on Saturday, May 9, in Clubhouse 4 at 11 a.m. This is always a huge success, and tickets are expected to sell out, so now is the time to drop hints to family members who would like to treat mom, as this has turned into a family event. The event is sponsored by OsteoStrong Seal Beach and Alignment Health.

Leisure World residents enjoyed a beautiful day on the water during a community whale watching trip on March 25, departing from Long Beach Harbor. The group headed out via boat along the Southern California coastline in search of marine wildlife. The excursion quickly delivered unforgettable sights, including a large pod of common dolphins that swam alongside the boat—delighting passengers

CDS FOR SENIORS CLUB At a recent CDs for Seniors Club meeting, raffle winners Carl Sutterfield (l-r), Sandra Demmers, Char Kanemaru and Pat Lain received tickets for “Hairspray” at the GEM Theater in Garden Grove. Wa-Rite

Wa-Rite


Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork. On March 20, members learned that the club lost 15.5 pounds for the week

Joyful Line Dance


The Joyful Line Dance Club meets on Thursdays in Clubhouse 2 from 10 a.m.-noon. Albert Comia leads the first hour of the class for beginners. After a break, Karen Kei teaches more advanced routine. On May 14, the club will have a social gathering, including a lunch box from Sprouts, provided by and for members of the club who paid this year’s membership fee. People must be members of the club
