The Table Tennis Club is welcoming summer with its yearly picnic on June 3 at noon at Clubhouse 1. The picnic is free for members, and guests will be charged $10. Bringing a side dish would be greatly appreciated, but is optional. A sign up sheet for the event is posted in the table tennis area in Clubhouse 6, with sign ups to be completed by May 26. The LW Women’s Golf Club played on May 5, with 39 women participating in the weekly nine hole tournament. Play for the day was low gross, low net, and circle hole on No. 8. Janell Hiebert landed her ball in the circle. This was also the first day of the three-week women’s golf championship. A flight winners: CeCe Feltman, 27, low gross; Hae Lee, 24, low net. Leisure World resident and Golden Age Foundation (GAF) President Anna Derby was recognized for her 20 years of volunteer service by the City of Seal Beach on April 27. In 1981, Derby moved to the United States from Seoul, Korea with her two children. After working different jobs, she got a job at Farmers and Merchants Bank, from which she retired in 2006. During the recent meeting, the RV Club discussed the RV Club office trailer’s water damage. Rather than making expensive repairs, club officers voted to dispose of it. The club will meet Tuesday, May 19, at 4:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, to discuss the restructuring of the club and upcoming trips. There will be dinner at the meeting, RSVP is required. People can call Bob Konier at 562-509-7156
