TOURNAMENT POKER CLUB

Those who would like to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em for a $5 buy-in can play with the Tournament Poker Club on Saturday, Nov. 7. Regular tournaments are held on the first three Saturdays of every month and start at 10 a.m. with registration. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating. On Oct. 3, the club celebrated a big event. At each tournament since January, the club has put money into a special jackpot prize for the player who wins a hand with a royal flush. This fund had been growing until Roy Mittlestadt finally claimed the prize with a royal flush of clubs. Mittlestadt has lived in Leisure World for 14 years and been a member of the club for about 11 years. He plays regularly in the Saturday tournaments and in several other games. He isn’t sure how many tournaments he has won over the years, but he does have seven medals to show for his efforts. Besides poker, Mittlestadt is a member of the LW Pool Club, and is an avid gardener. He is known in his neighborhood for his barbeque skills and generally likes to cook and eat good food. The club congratulates him as it starts to build another jackpot.
