Bad Dad Blues performs Nov. 7 in Clubhouse 1
GRF BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Bad Dad Blues will perform Saturday, Nov. 7, in Clubhouse 1 from 6:30-9 p.m. as part of the GRF Battle of the Bands competition.
Bad Dad Blues is a group of dads performing ‘70’s and ‘80’s classic rock and blues in Southern California. Their sets include songs by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Santana, Bob Seger, Grateful Dead and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
People are invited to bring their own drinks and snacks.
The band was formed in late 2024 by local musicians who play in local venues including the Blarney Stone in Fountain Valley, 2nd Floor in Huntington Beach, the Marina Wine Bar and Gallagher’s in Long Beach. Tony Nottonson has also played in various cover bands since the mid-1980s, specializing in authentic vocal and lead guitar renditions. Jay Lamb and Anthony Theissen are retired teachers and can finally rock and roll all night and party every day. Free shuttle ride to the dance
Bus service is now available for Clubhouse 1 dances due to limited parking constraints. Call 562-472-1367 for the on-call bus service. A shuttle will be dispatched to pick up the resident at that time. Passengers can be picked up near their home or any other location within Leisure World. The pickup location should be somewhere that allow the resident and the bus driver to see each other.
As part of the GRF Battle of the Bands competition, attendance at the band’s performances will determine if Recreation can keep them coming back, so be sure to sign in.
All concerts are free, but tips are accepted and appreciated.
Tony Nottonson (l-r), Rick Blumenthal, Anthony Theisen and Jay Lamb
