Where We Live Club

The Where We Live Club will meet on Monday, Nov. 2, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, from 6-7 p.m. with guest speaker Stephanie Wade.

Most residents care about what happens around them. They care about their neighborhood, community, the people who live here and the decisions that affect them. But there is a difference between caring about something and deciding to get involved. What makes someone take that next step? Sometimes it’s an issue that hits close to home. Sometimes it’s an election, a community problem or simply the realization that for something to change, somebody has to be willing to step forward.

Wade knows quite a bit about stepping forward. Her life has taken her from military service to the classroom, from community activism to working inside government, and even to putting her own name on the ballot. Now she calls Leisure World home. Wade will share her story and talk about what makes people become involved in the communities where they live. All are welcome to come listen, ask questions and be part of the conversation.
