Bands can apply for GRF-sponsored weekend dance slots

There are many perks that go along with living at Leisure World Seal Beach. One of the best is the extensive free live entertainment. Going back to the 1960s, GRF and clubs have sponsored dance bands. With increasing demand, the Member Services Committee approved an initiative to add more GRF-sponsored dances at its Aug. 11 meeting.

Interested bands can apply for the opportunity to perform during a ninemonth trial period during which GRF will book, promote and track attendance for the selected performers. Those that capture the highest attendance will be offered contracts starting in July 2027.

The available Saturday dance spots will be reserved in Clubhouse 1 on the first and third Saturdays so as not to compete with the currently contracted bands. Club-sponsored bands can continue to reserve available dates outside of this schedule and can use those attendance records to compete for the future paid performances.
