The Leisure World Pickleball Club tournament kicked off July 13 with incredible energy and enthusiastic participation, marking a fantastic beginning to the event for both players and spectators.

Players of beginning and intermediate skill levels who took to the courts on the past two Mondays, showcasing their talent and competitive spirit, included: Elaine Morgan, Annamarie Levdahl, Nancy Smith, Loesje Peterse, Karen Stevenson, Nancy Manion, Pam Smith, Dan Twomey, John Gustaves, D.L. Johnson, Linda Evenson, Denise Konopelski, Karen Ford, Dennis Beaudette, Diane Holdaway and Ivan Painschab.

The final day of the tournament is Monday, July 27, from 5-8 p.m.

People interested in learning about the game are encouraged to come to the courts, behind Clubhouse 2.

The club is planning a second tournament for its more advanced players in September. Any Leisure World resident is eligible to play in the tournaments. Play on the pickleball courts is limited to residents.
