'What’s goin’ on, what’s goin’ on”—That’s what everyone was thinking as “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” with the unmistakable sounds of Motown and More with Myles Roach pouring out of Clubhouse 4 June 29. It was one of the most exciting musical events enjoyed by all in a long time with “Dancing In The Street,” “My Girl,” “For Once In My Life” and many more for three hours.
From the opening number, the audience was dancing and clapping to the beat, and singing along to favorites while sharing smiles, which created an atmosphere of fun for all.
The response was overwhelming. Every seat inside the clubhouse was filled with the overflow crowd standing in the lobby and more gathered out front on the lawn.
The musicians were exceptional, including Leisure World’s own Tony Burris on drums. The band’s talent and professionalism produced the energetic sounds that made Motown famous.
Every song brought cheers from the audience and inspired more dancing and singing.
The evening was much more than a concert, it was a celebration of music, memories and community.
Hopefully, this outstanding band will be brought back and that’s not “Just My Imagination.”
