Genealogy Club

The Genealogy Club will not hold general meetings in July or August. Those interested in learning how to build a family tree and search for ancestors on Ancestry.com are invited to join a class on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the Genealogy Library in Clubhouse 3, adjacent to the library. The free class is open to all residents. This will be the first of an ongoing series of classes held on the first Thursday of each month to teach people how to use Ancestry.com. For more information, email lwgenealogy@gmail.com.

The club thanks Teri Charlesworth, Linda Bewley, Diana Harrison and Cynthia McFarland who planned and hosted the June luncheon. Everything was great.

The club holds Theme Thursdays from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Genealogy Library. Upcoming topics include:

• July 16: “Loyalists in the Revolution—the other side...”

• July 23: What are Minutemen? Their role in the Revolution.

• July 30: Chew and Chat (Social time, bring goodies to share, if desired).

To volunteer at the Genealogy Library or sign up to be a substitute, contact the volunteer coordinator at 714-390-4213 or at lisnhow@gmail.com.
