Community Church

Community Church in Leisure World approaches things differently. It believes the call of Jesus wasn’t to repent and believe, but rather to go beyond and act.

Those who have been hurt by the church in the past are welcome to join.

On Sunday, July 19, the church will study a passage about a farm scene where a farmer sowing seeds over all kinds of soil and surfaces. No surprise, the seeds that fell on good soil did better than the seeds that fell on the stone path.

Typically, this story is told to ask church members what kind of soil they think they are. Rev. Johan Dodge sees another way to read the story: as a way of connecting to others, and seeing the bigger picture every person has a place in.
