Bill Lyons scores a hole-in-one on No. 2

June 24 was the second LW Men’s Golf Club tournament of the month. Forty-nine golfers teed off starting at 7:30 a.m. with each man competing for best net scores, plus four circle holes and two closest to the pin challenges. Twenty-six of the 49 men scored net at or under par. There were 52 birdies and 10 circle hole winners.

Closest to the pin on hole No. 2 was Roland Phillips and on No. 8 it was Bud Young. Average net score for the round was 55.2 or just over one stroke over par. Low net score for the round was Todd Chidester at 8 under 46, followed by Sam Dokko, 7 under 47, and Steve Kang and John Zimmerman at 6 under 48. Low gross for the round was Thomas Kim at 4 under 50. Bill Lyons scored a hole-in-one on hole No. 2.

A flight winners (handicaps of 0-5): Thomas Kim and Dong On Kim, first place; Kevin Childress, second; Steve Walker, third; Yong J. Kim and Steve Walker, fourth; Fujio Norihiro and John Kolthoff, fifth.

B flight winners (handicaps of 6-12): Dokko, first place; Kang, second; Hyon Shin, third; Dennis McMonigle, fourth; Phillips and Young Lee, fifth; Bud Young, sixth; Jae H. Lee and Walter Kim, seventh; Richard Yokomi, eighth.

C flight winners (handicaps of 13-18): Chidester, first place; Zimmerman, second; Daniel Mahoney and Scott Tuchfarber, third; Ron Osgood, fourth; Rueban Garcia, fifth; Ron Steele, Jon Russell and Kevin Lindstedt, sixth; Noe Alcaraz, seventh.
