First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

Hebrews 11 is known as the faith chapter. In it, the author recounts many acts of faith by many Old Testament heroes. Verse 33 describes, “by faith these heroes conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.”

The things described in Hebrews 11 are a challenge to readers.

Verse 6 says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Faith is the foundation of belief in God and His Son Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 sums it up: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross.”
