Community Church
On Sunday, June 21, Community Church will look at one of the most difficult passages of Scripture in the New Testament: Jesus telling his followers “do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” The sword is then described as dividing families—man against father, daughter against mother, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. Looking around at the world today there is plenty of division and while most swords have been upgraded to drones armed with explosives, it is the more subtle division believers are meant to concern themselves with.
The division in churches among believers, former believers and nonbelievers are often caused by what churches have asked people to believe. Community Church approaches things differently. The church believes the call of Jesus wasn’t to repent and believe, but rather to go beyond and act.
Community Church invites all people, regardless of church of faith experience to attend one of its Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place. All are welcome who are welcoming to all. For more information, visit the Leisure World Community Church Facebook page.
