The North Gate will be closed today, May 28, to repair damage sustained in a vehicle collision last month.

The gate will be closed from approximately 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Closure signage will be posted at the end of North Gate Road near Seal Beach Boulevard. The Main Gate and St. Andrews Gate will remain open. The pedestrian gate at North Gate will also remain open.

The damage occurred at 11:18 p.m. on April 21, when a visitor in a blue Lexus SUV drove through the closed North Gate without slowing down, breaking through the barrier fence at a high speed, according to security footage.

Seal Beach police responded to a separate call, and the suspected driver was ultimately restrained and transported by paramedics.
