First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

In Psalm 95:6 the psalmist wrote, “Come, let us worship.” The Lord calls his people to gather, worship, sing joyfully, and to be thankful, for he is their God and they are his people.

Americans are blessed to live in a community and a country where worship is permitted. There are several places to worship in Leisure World.

Taking time to come together, fellowship, make new friends and worship God as it says in the scriptures is very uplifting for the spirit.

Leisure World even makes it easy to get to the places of worship in the community with the On call bus.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Gregory Black will bring the special music.

Saturday services held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Women’s Bible Study on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m. All are welcome to join any service or midweek study.

Scripture of the Week

“I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High,” Psalm 9:1-2.
