First Christian Church
First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.
Pastor’s Message
As the apostle Paul closes out Romans 15:22-33 it could serve as an inspiration and guidebook for missionaries today of perseverance, confidence and service to God.
Paul traveled from country to country for at least a decade and totaled approximately 6,800 miles, all done on foot and by sea.
Beginning in verse 22, Paul explains how he had been prevented from traveling to Rome prior to this time but now, with no further place for him to go in the regions he wanted to fulfill a longing to finally go to Rome. He eventually did make it to Rome, but unfortunately as a prisoner.
Further on in the chapter, Paul speaks of his motivations for traveling, how his travels are funded and urges the recipients of this letter to join with him in prayers to God for safe travels in order that his arrival would be a joyful one, by the will of God.
Paul ends the chapter in verse 33 with a brief memorable prayer that, “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”
