Annual Ham Shoot is May 20 in courts building

SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB

A rite of passage each spring for Shuffleboard Club members is the annual Ham Shoot, which will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 3:30 p.m. in the courts building. A sign-up sheet is available for those who haven’t yet made a commitment. There is a $2 entry fee, which goes toward the prize fund.

This yearly event is a lot of fun, and is a club favorite. Obstacles are placed on each of the six lanes to make it harder to score, and the challenging competition for high score gets intense as the game progresses.

Residents thinking about joining the club can contact Membership Chair Patty Peterson at 562-714-7072. Dues are $5 per year.

Tuesday evening, April 28 league results: Team Sue defeated Team Karen 8-4. Team Bob beat Team Jesus 7-5. Allgame winners included Lynn Baidack, Sue Burkschab, Sandy Bush, Linda Evenson, Judy Hulin, Devon James, Marlene Levy and Heather Moore.

Friday morning, May 1 league results: Team Patti buried Team Susan 10-2. Team Shel bested Team Rod 7-5. All-game winners were Lee Broadbent, Sally Fowler, Milly Larsen, Hoan Lekhac, Shel Magnuson, Patti Nemnich, Jack O’Brien, Donna Perkins and Connie Terry.
