Photo Arts Club
The Photo Arts Club will meet May 14 in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, at 1:30 p.m. Bring an iPhone/Android and/or camera.
At the March meeting, President Regine Schumacher announced that the field trip to Rancho Los Alamitos had been quite a success. The weather could not have been better, and she is looking forward to seeing some of the photos at the May meeting.
Members are invited to submit three of their best photos of hands —the club’s May photo assignment—as well as three photos from the Rancho field trip. Email them to benbenjamins@hotmail. com by May 11. People can also bring photos of their choice to be displayed and commented on.
The April assignment was to photograph street art. Many excellent and often astounding photos were presented that had been taken locally and internationally. There were lively comments from the audience. Les Coombes showed a photo of a hummingbird and another of a penguin. Schumacher showed a portrait photo of a Tuareg in native costume and explained how easy it is to get permission from people encountered during travel to have their picture taken.
People with technical or other questions will be paired with someone who can help them for individual discussion after the meeting. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Regine Schumacher at 562-430-7978.
