Senior Pastor Yong Jang-Young recently returned from a two-week mission trip to Japan and Korea with 26 members from LW Korean Community Church (LWKCC).

When speaking about the mission to the congregation, Pastor Young emphasized that missions are not contingent upon any specific environment or circumstance; rather, the very act of proclaiming the resurrected Jesus Christ constitutes the testimony, evangelism, and mission itself. He offered words of encouragement to the missionaries dedicated to this calling and reported with gratitude on the grace experienced by all who participated.

During his visit to Korea, Pastor Young introduced the ministry of Siloam Hospital, which began over 40 years ago with a focus for the visually impaired. He shared photographs and the story of Pastor Kim Sun-tae, who was at the very inception of the ministry. Through this account, there was a profound realization of how God’s mission is accomplished and how every step of the process brings glory to God. Pastor Young also delivered a sermon titled “Encountering Jesus at Emmaus” based on Luke 24:31. Believers must live within a personal relationship with Jesus, confessing that he alone is the true salvation. Seniors must listen to God’s word with even greater humility, drawing upon their life experiences and the refining trials they have endured. They must live with a faith grounded in the firm assurance of God’s presence.

LWKCC holds a worship service on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place next to St. Andrews Gate. The early morning prayer service is Tuesday-Saturday at 6 a.m. For more information, call 714323-0897.
