REDEEMER LUTHERAN AND ST. THEODORE
The congregations of Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal hosted two bishops at its LW campus for a special time of worship, prayer, conversation and a meal on April 8. The congregations thank Episcopal Bishop John H. Taylor and Lutheran Bishop David C. Nagler for joining.
On Sunday, April 26, Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore will celebrate the fourth Sunday of Easter at the 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion service at13564St.AndrewsDrive. The Rev. Murray Finck will preside over the service. All residents are welcome to join.
People can stay after service for fellowship in the Fellowship Hall with coffee, tea, cookies and snacks. The congregation will also celebrate April birthdays this week.
The congregations continue to collect donations of canned food for those in need.
The Spring Bazaar will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Redeemer Lutheran Church on April 30, May 1 and May 2 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and shop. Lunch will be available for purchase. For more information, see page 17.
The Bible study continues on Wednesday, April 29, from noon-1:15 p.m. The group is studying the Acts of the Apostles. People are encouraged to bring their Bibles, a friend or neighbor, and lunch. This is a great opportunity for believers to expand their knowledge of the early church and make a new friend.
The Gospel lesson this week is from John 10:1-10. Jesus again compares himself to a shepherd. He explains the different between a shepherd and a hired hand. Who do believers look to be their shepherd? People need a shepherd who is just, protective, understanding and brave; someone who looks out for the weak, poor, outcast and lost and who is willing to lay down his life for the smallest sheep.
