First Christian Church
First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.
Pastor’s Message
The passage Paul writes in Romans 14:14-23 to the congregation of believers is dealing with practicality in each person’s walk before the Lord and the somewhat trivial conflicts that come up between mature persons and weaker ones in the body of Christ.
Romans 14:16 says, “Do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil.”
Paul reminds the members of the Roman church to concentrate on righteousness, peace and joy that comes from abiding with the Holy Spirit. He encourages them to set aside the things they do not agree on and pursue things that focus on peace and building one another up.
In conclusion, Paul wrote in verses 19 and 22, “The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.”
Weekly Services
Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Al and Sherry Parmenter will bring the special music this week.
Saturday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.
Midweek Studies
Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.
Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.
All are welcome to join any service or midweek study.
