Community Church

Community Church will observe the third Sunday of Easter on Sunday, April 19. This week, the message follows the disciples on the road to Emmaus and two of the followers of Jesus encountering Jesus on the road. The disciples don’t recognize Jesus until he breaks bread with them over a meal. Pastor Johan Dodge asks, “have we missed the point of the resurrection?” His message this week is titled “Resurrection Reconsidered” and will look at how believers can witness the resurrection today, as well as how they can bear witness to the resurrection through their lives.

This Sunday, the theme is the starfish. Starfish, like many other animals, have the ability to regenerate their limbs. Native Americans venerated the starfish for their strength and immortality, the Haida Tribe even has a Starfish Clan.

Those who are looking for a message of encouragement are welcome to join the congregation of Community Church on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. for a time of community in which no one is a stranger. No prior church experience is required. All are welcome who are welcoming to all. The church is located near the St. Andrews Gate at 14000 Church Place.
