Sign up for OLLI classes on June 12
LIFELONG LEARNING
Registration for the summer session of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Cal State Long Beach starts on June 12. Classes begin on July 10.
Classes will be held on campus at CSULB, at several community satellite locations and online via Zoom.
OLLI offers a wide range of courses, covering topics like technology, music, art, languages, fitness, personal finance, creative writing, crafts, history, health and more.
OLLI President Glenn Libby gave this advice to aspiring students: “The educational experience at OLLI should be joyful. You get to choose from a wide variety of classes, encompassing literature, science, the arts, current events, music, sports etc. The cost is minimal. There are no tests, grades or prerequisites. You are in total control of your curriculum. I highly recommend that you test the waters in all that OLLI has to offer. You will be a better person for making the effort.”
New classes cover topics like pop culture (“What the Pop!”), the Declaration of Independence, miniature art pieces, Microsoft Excel, bluegrass mandolin, classic movies, watercolors, basket-making and grappling with iPhones.
