SUNSHINE CLUB

The Sunshine Club held its end of the year party on Dec. 17 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, to celebrate the progress of the club. Lunch included teriyaki chicken; lightly battered mixed tempura with five pieces of shrimp, sweet potato, bell pepper, zucchini, and onion rings white rice; salad; miso soup; and candy and cupcakes from See’s Candies for dessert. Special thanks to Lillian Silva and Loni Gardette, who volunteered to pick up the food from the restaurant. It was the second time in a year that the Sunshine Club members could meet in person. Due to safety concerns, the club had to limit the party’s capacity to 50 people. The club hopes to be able to gather without capacity restrictions next year.

Those who attended met one another with smiles on their faces and were happy to be with people who have similar interests in the community. The room was decorated with red, green, and other bright, beautiful colors to match the jolly holiday spirits of the club members.

The club will meet on Jan. 14 with GRF Security Director Victor Rocha as the guest speaker. The club will then continue to meet every Friday at 10 a.m. via Zoom until further notice.
