The LW Bicyclists recently enjoyed happy hour at Jade in the Marina Pacifica shopping center. Located on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, the restaurant offers dining both inside and outside overlooking the water. The prototype for LW's iconic Amphitheater, now almost 60 years old, was apparently a Southern California landmark. Resident historian William Thompson of Mutual 5 had heard that the Amphitheater design was based on the Hollywood Bowl. He was prompted to investigate because LW's Amphitheater is not classic "bowl" architecture. Upon further research, he learned that the LW structure
