Claytime Ceramics held its third annual New Year celebration with delicious food catered by Nomad Asian Bistro and cookies from Fortune Cookie. Each attendee was presented with a golden ceramic fortune cookie as a memento. Prizes were awarded to the winner of a lively dice game. Hui O Hula will perform during community center lunch
Hui O Hula, Leisure World’s Hawaiian dance club, welcomes anyone curious about the art of hula. Free hula lessons are offered twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. Tuesday’s class meets upstairs at Clubhouse 6; Thursday’s class is held in the conference room next to the Medcare Medical Pharmacy. Learn how to use and care for sewing machines
All sewers are invited to an educational presentation/ workshop on the care and use of sewing machines—proper bobbins, needles, thread and cleaning, presented by Steve Shuman from The Sewing Center of Orange County. Anyone who owns a sewing machine or uses the Needle Arts Studio in Clubhouse 3 can learn something useful from this presentation.
