Community Church
On Palm Sunday, March 29, Community Church will look at Matthew’s gospel that records the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem which will lead to Good Friday and Easter on Sunday, April 5. As a reminder, the word Gospel means “good news.” The church will have palm branches to celebrate the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem at this service.
Community Church encourages believers to “Shine in the Darkness,” with a list of daily suggestions as alternatives to Lenten sacrifice. Copies of this list are available at the Sunday service, or in the church office during business hours from Tuesday-Thursday at 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
This week’s challenges are as follows:
• March 26: Let someone in front of you in line.
• March 27: Thank someone in service to others.
• March 28: Give a stranger a compliment.
• March 29: Palm Sunday. Be kind someone today.
• March 30: Share a meal with a friend.
• March 31: Visit someone.
• April 1: Tell someone you’re grateful for them. People are welcome to join the service on Sunday, April 5, for Easter Sunday, which will include a flower cross made from fresh flowers. Those who have flowers to share can come early. We will process into the Sanctuary at the start of the service with the Easter cross. People are welcome to arrive to service early for a cup of coffee and stay after for a time of light refreshment.
