Shuf. eboarders transition between seasonal leagues

There is only one more week left in the Shuffleboard Club winter league season. After a brief respite, spring games will begin for a 10-week period after the Easter holiday weekend, beginning on Tuesday, April 7. Sign up sheets for the spring season are available at the courts through March 17.

In the meantime, Monday practices continue from 9-11 a.m. in March. There is one change in the starting time for the first Monday practice of every month, now to be 8:3010 a.m. This change was made because the Shuffleboard Club Board voted to change the monthly membership meetings from Thursdays to the first Monday of every month. This allows members to practice and then attend the membership meetings in nearby Clubhouse 1 at 10 a.m.

Valentine’s Day ends and along comes St. Patrick’s Day. With it brings another club party and potluck. People are encouraged to wear green on the actual holiday itself, Tuesday, March 17, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 17 league results: Team Sue bested Team Bob 7-5. Team Sally outstripped Team Jesus 8-4. All-game winners were Anne Calvo, Sandy Derouin, Sally Fowler, Sal LaScala, Bob Peterson, Mark Scott and Bert Thompson.

Thursday, Feb. 19 league results: Team Jack and Team Lynne captured identical scores 6-6. All-game winners were Michael Fennessy, Teri James, Lynne Haines and Judy Hulin.

Friday, Feb. 20 league results: Team Patti outdid Team Rod 8-4. All-game winners were Lee Broadbent and Vivian Ceballos.
