Leisure World Korean Community Church (LWKCC), led by Senior Pastor Young-Yong Jang, celebrated its 15th anniversary with a revival service themed “Aging Gracefully” on Nov. 9. The three-day service, led by Senior Pastor Dong-Won Lee of the Korea Global Village Church, was a time of grace that deeply moved and spiritually enlightened the congregation and local believers.

Pastor Lee cited Caleb from the time of Joshua, emphasizing his humble faith, his ability to maintain good health and faith even at the age of 85, and his inheritance of the land of Hebron. He urged seniors to cultivate a thirst for holiness and restore their identity as believers, saying, “Because God is holy, we too must long for a holy life. The purpose of living with the heart of the father should be to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the community and humbly serve our neighbors.”

On Nov. 16, Pastor Jang delivered a sermon on grace and mission. He cited 2 Corinthians 6:1 to reflect on past failures and provide a vision for the future.

After the service, a birthday celebration was held for Elder Ji Sa-yong, who celebrated his 95th birthday. He was born in Seoul in 1930. He was drafted into the Korean War in 1950 at the age of 20, defending his country.

He immigrated to the United States in 1973 and settled there. He enjoyed a stable life and was blessed with four children. He founded the Korean American Senior Citizens Association, which provided much assistance to seniors in need. After retiring in 2002, he moved to LW and helped establish the Korean Association.
