Cypress Art League

Leisure World residents Joan Boryta and Alice Sioson won special awards at the Cypress Art League’s Autumn 2025 Annual Art Show held on Sept. 14 at the Cypress Community Center.

Boryta won two awards for her watercolor paintings while Sioson won for her Chinese brush painting. The art show attracted artists from all over Southern California and even from Arizona. Many visual arts such as painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital arts and other 3D artworks were represented in the art show. Winners were awarded prizes in nine regular categories plus special awards from sponsors. In addition to ribbons, the winners also received cash awards and gift certificates from sponsors.

The Cypress Art League’s juried annual art shows/exhibitions are held during spring and autumn each year in coordination with the City of Cypress.
