Hui O Hula: Hawaiian Dance Club
Hui O Hula’s Hawaiian dance classes meet on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. upstairs in Clubhouse 6, and on Thursdays at 1 p.m. at Veterans Plaza. In class, dancers—regardless of skill level—are learning and reviewing a collection of Christmas hula. It is never too late to join in the holiday fun. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring soft booties, and come ready to smile and move. For class information, call or text 562-338-1502.
This is the third year Hui O Hula has joined five other clubs in decorating the six Christmas trees displayed in the clubhouses. The 2025 theme, “Christmas Around the World,” inspired the hula dancers to gather once again and create a tree—celebrating cultures from across the globe, now displayed in the Clubhouse 6 lobby. Their ornaments showcased each culture’s unique character, all woven together with aloha.
Dancer Libby Bond led the decorating effort with her signature energy and creativity. Under her direction, dancers shared ideas, climbed ladders, fluffed branches and brought their vision to life in an afternoon. Hui O Hula hopes it brings joy to everyone who passes through.
