Shuffleboard Club is off to strong fall start
All three leagues of the Shuffleboard Club are in the third week of a strong season with enthusiastic players, lots of practice and high spirits in the Tuesday evening, Thursday afternoon and Friday morning teams. There are 13 total teams playing during the fall season. Between ongoing practices on Mondays and coaching on Thursdays at 9 a.m. for those wanting a little advice, the courts are well utilized all week long.
The club has a brand new captain, Karen Powell—a relatively new member. Rod Osgood, a longtime member, has returned this season to captain again. The club is grateful to both of them for stepping up to volunteer for this critical job.
In the works is one of the club’s celebrated social events —a Halloween party—on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 5:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 1. Sally Fowler and Arleen Cullison are chief party planners and people are strongly encouraged to arrive in costume. Sign-ups for food and attendance are available at the courts.
