LWer finishes second in Aloha 5K run in Long Beach

After 26 years of marriage, partnership and running marathons together, the founder and president of the Leisure Legger Walking Club Tom Pontac, and his wife, Jeanne Pontac, of Mutual 10, continue following the mottos “It’s never too late to be what you might have been” and “Growing old isn’t for sissies!” In the recent Aloha 5K race in Long Beach, Jeanne once again impressed her husband by placing second in her age group. She began running after meeting Tom 26 years ago, and completed her first of many marathons in New York in 1996 at the young age of 50. Everyone is welcome to join the club in a walk around Leisure World on Mondays at 8 a.m. at Clubhouse 6.
