Learn about hearing aids coverage Sept. 11

The Hearing Loss Association of America Long Beach/ Lakewood Chapter will meet on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 4-5 p.m. at the Weingart Center at 5200 Oliva Ave., Lakewood, 90712. David J. DeKriek, Au.D., of Fidelity Hearing Center, will break down the basics of health insurance for those wearing hearing aids, explain different types of plans, and highlight how coverage (or lack of coverage) for hearing aids works. People will learn what questions to ask their insurance providers, and practical tips for maximizing their options.

Whether your plan offers a hearing aid benefit, a discount program, or no coverage at all, this session will provide the tools to make informative decisions about hearing healthcare. The chapter meets on the second Thursdayofthemonth.Meetings are captioned, informal and free, and open to the public. They provide a friendly place to share questions, find solutions and learn about technology that makes living with hearing loss easier.
