Considering both these factors, a 51% wage increase over 10 years appears to be in the reasonable range. GRF employees play a vital role in maintaining and improving our 542-acre community.
As our infrastructure continues to age, the value of experienced, skilled staff becomes even more critical. Competitive pay is essential not only to attracting capable employees but to retaining the institutional knowledge and specialized skills that help our community function smoothly.
That said, some of the unease may stem from concerns about specific individuals—perhaps those perceived as overpaid, underperforming or both.
Oversight of employee compensation and performance, particularly at the senior levels, is the responsibility of the Executive Director and the GRF Board of Directors. I expect this area will receive close and appropriate scrutiny.
