First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

The New Testament scriptures speak of several different judgements of God that are yet future. An example of this is in Romans 2:4, where Paul the apostle poses a question to a self righteousness man: “Do you despise the riches of His goodness and long suffering, not understanding that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”

Continuing in verse 5, Paul says “but in accordance with your unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God.”

The self righteous man is actually storing up his own punishment from God much like one would store up gold, silver and any other things the man considers more precious than the riches and goodness of God. However, Paul’s question offers each man, even the hard hearted, unrepentant self righteous man the opportunity to allow himself to experience the free riches of God’s goodness, forbearance, and long suffering which will lead him to repentance and open the door to salvation and eternal life.
